Event Description The San Dieguito Art Guild is hosting a free demo "A guided exploration of Watercolors and Collage with Kathy Harvey" Thursday, Feb 2, 2012 1:00 - 3:00 SPACE IS LIMITED ( there are only 15 spots left and it's open to the public) - RSVP to save your spot There will be a free demonstration by artist Kathy Harvey at the San Diego Botanic Garden on February 2, from 1:00 until 3:00pm. Kathy will be doing a "hands-on" demo with watercolor that is meditative and relaxing. All supplies provided. There will be a theme involved such as "love" since it's in February. We will begin with a few minutes of relaxation techniques, then move to warms ups. Kathy will be using watercolors and collage supplies. We will practice with the watercolors with specific instructions such as quick paintings to music, and will then move into creating a design with the assistance of quotations, poems and writings. The remaining time will be spent sharing our thoughts and reactions to the process. Kathy will also have lots of examples to stimulate thought. "The Creative Process has been a driving force behind my work for the last thirty years. Healing, learning, and contemplation have grown to be places where I encourage sharing and exploration with others. This work of integrative arts, uses a variety of elements, forums, and context. Various mediums include; paint, collage, language, journaling, found objects, and personal artifacts. I bring these elements into health care centers, sacred spaces, public workshop environments, and where creativity can provide a positive embrace.
