Event Description

Paint the excellent views in afternoon light over San Diego from the historic neighborhood of Mission Hills. Students may also choose to paint the charming architecture. Painting outdoors gives the artist the opportunity to experiment with light, color, and atmosphere. This plein air painting class is taught on location in beautiful San Diego. Work with San Diego landscape painter Kevin Inman to learn how to paint spontaneously, simplify a complex subject, and enjoy the moment. Topics include color mixing, design, and how to let go of your inner critic.

Tired of mass-produced holiday decor from big box stores! Unleash your creativity this season with this relaxing workshop designed to inspire your inner artist. Learn various techniques: paper collage, creating texture with modeling pastes and stencils, building layers of color with distress ink and adding vintage costume jewelry 3D effects. Feb 12, 2025 Wed Noon - 3:00 PM We will create mixed media collage on wood panel with vintage paper doll images, focusing on your choice of holiday theme. Goodbye generic decorations and hello to one-of-a-kind holiday art. All materials are provided. A $25 material fee is due to the instructor on the day of the workshop. Please bring eyeglasses and any special beads you wish to use.

Event Description

Develop your sculpture practice in six sessions from a photo reference of your choice. We'll start with a basic drawing, create a wire structure, wrap it in paper to create form, apply air-dry clay, and finish with acrylic paint. All materials will be available for purchase on the first day of the class. Costs will depend on individual's needs. Approximately $40. Please bring: Ruler, long nose pliers with cutter. This group exhibition showcases recent works by the talented faculty and staff of the Fine Art department. The artwork on display highlights the creativity and dedication of instructors and staff, who find the time to pursue their studio practice.
