Opening Ceremony for "All The Places We Belong"
"All the Places We Belong" examines the interplay between identity, memory, and domestic spaces through the works of Arts District’s most recent Emerging Artists in Residence, Sean Sarmiento and Gracie Moon. In a culmination of their 6 month visual arts residency, the work of both artists navigate the psychological and cultural resonance of home, shaping it as a space where identity is formed, questioned, and reclaimed.

Event Description |
Genesis by Mukama Madoshi presents a striking new body of paintings exploring origin, transformation, and cyclical existence, drawing from Abrahamic creation stories and Madoshi’s East African heritage. His paintings
evoke elemental forces—fire, mist, and frost—as metaphors for human experience. Exploring the interplay of struggle and triumph, despair and elation, the exhibition blurs the boundaries between past, present, and future, forming a visual language that is both abstract and visceral. |
