Event Description "'Rhapsody Grotesque' is an ebullient exploration of the wonderful—be it animal, vegetable, or mineral. In creating the paintings for this show, I sought to shatter and restructure our expectations of the grotesque, imbuing the unknown with whimsy, purpose, and harmony. Additionally, the show is intended as a rebelliously joyful ode to magic, nature, and imagination in an era of division and strife. Some pieces focus on a singular subject; others are a riotous amusement of interacting forms. Together, they invite viewers to consider potentiality not in terms of doom, but as a playground for curiosity and delight." - Mia Savage

Event Description Join us for the opening reception of Rhapsody Grotesque, an exhibition of new paintings by Mia Savage at Thumbprint Gallery in La Jolla. Savage is an established painter whose thoughtfully whimsical works explore organic forms through oil, acrylic, and watercolor. Since 2009, Thumbprint Gallery has been a beacon of contemporary art in Southern California. The small space boasts a mighty legacy of outré and trailblazing work. The opening reception will be held from 4–9 p.m. on Friday, November 7, coinciding with La Jolla ArtWalk. The artist will be in attendance.
