Event Description |
Every Tuesday from 6-9pm and Saturday, from 9:30am - 12:30pm, the Art Academy of San Diego offers an Open Studio Life Drawing or Painting session. Artists and students are invited to bring their oil paints, acrylics, charcoal or pencils and work for three hours with a model. Easels and drawing benches are available in the life drawing studio. All the models are trained and experienced in posing for artists. The three hour session begins with a few short poses followed by one or two long poses. However, there is flexibility to meet the needs of the majority of those in attendance. The Open Studio is designed for artists and people who have had previous drawing experience as there is no formal instruction. No registration or advanced reservation is required to participate in the Open Studio Life Drawing. Just bring your supplies. Open Studio sessions are available twice a week. Offering the opportunity to work with a model for three hours at the low price of $10 is another way that the Art Academy of San Diego is working to encourage artists and students throughout San Diego and further our mission of: “Supporting the artist in all of us”. Art Academy of San Diego (formerly Arts College International) is a private, non-accredited visual arts school providing arts education for adults and children.
