Character design is critical to the plausibility of alternate realities in science fiction movies. In numerous films and television series’ Neville Page brings to life bio-mechanical killers, virtual worlds and alien creatures that explore alternate realities. The Beauty in the Beast: Crafting Creatures by Neville Page will display the original designs from blockbuster films he has worked on such as Prometheus (2012), Super 8 (2011), Green Lantern (2011) and Tron (2010), among others, showcasing Page’s use of traditional media as well as digital tools such as Photoshop and Zbrush to create fantastic creatures and exotic characters. The exhibition features Page’s design progressions, from early pencil sketches, to more developed digital concepts and small 3D models.
The Closing Reception will take place onSaturday, January 5, 2013, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Admission is complimentary for OMA members and Art Center College of Design students and Alumni, $10 for nonmembers. |
