This is an excellent 4 session workshop to help you find direction, and to prepare to enter group and juried shows.
In this workshop you learn how to choose your subject matter and develop a unique personal style through critique of you work. Beginning with how to choose the best reference photos , we will discuss how you find your own unique subject matter, and how your style develops as a response to the concept and subject that you choose. As class progresses, you will explore the relationship of your concept and painting style by writing an artist statement. As the work is completed the class will discuss creative issues and learn through group critique. Appropriate for intermediate and advanced students.
Materials: Bring reference photos or a recent painting or drawing each week for critique.

The 7th annual Tour is FREE and open to the public. The San Diego Pottery Tour is a cooperative effort by a group of potters in San Diego to help promote the ceramic arts through an annual tour that takes place in early December each year.
Former Parker students, Remington Weinger and Kate Biel are showcasing their current work in the Parker’s Rose Art Gallery.
The show is called “Fantastic Lens: identity, beauty, and re-imagining reality,” as the imagery is surreal, intimate, and introspectively explores the frequently blended boundary between photographer and subject.
The exhibition will be on display from now until January 23rd., with the gallery closing from Dec. 20 – Jan 4 during Parker’s Winter Break. The Rose Art Gallery will host an artist reception for Biel and Weinger on Thursday January 15th from 5-7PM. The artists will be on site and snacks and coffee will be served.
