75 Los Angeles artists will join with 75 San Diego-area artists for MAS [Mutual Appreciation Society] Attack 8, an exhibition model created by Artra Curatorial to allow artists to meet artists across gallery distinctions, genres, and borders. Some of the artists involved are represented by top Los Angeles galleries, while others are just getting their start. The ongoing series of one-night-only MAS Attacks, a nomadic entity which travels from city to city as well as around various sites in Los Angeles, has continued to introduce artists to each other and build a wider community of networks. These events invite artists to select their own work and come together for a single evening of informal networking, as a chance to catch up with old friend, and meet new artists, putting a face to artworks. As a form of participatory engagement, the focus is upon the interactions of artists and social aspects of our shared obsession in art.
