Installed as an exhibition, the resulting flowing fabric forms embrace the connection, fluidity, and vitality of the many hands involved. Event Description

Richard Deacon: What You See Is What You Get is the renowned British artist's first major museum exhibition in the United States. Winner of the Turner Prize in 1987 and the subject of a survey at Tate Britain in 2014, Deacon has been exhibited frequently internationally and remains a pioneering figure in the field of contemporary sculpture. The full range of the artist’s oeuvre includes free-standing sculptures and wall-mounted works, to glazed ceramics and works on paper. Richard Deacon: What You See Is What You Get includes roughly 40 works from more than three decades of Deacon's oeuvre. Along with loans from private collections as well as from institutions including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, D.C., this exhibition will debut a new work by Deacon.

Event Description

This is a workshop for those who wish to draw (pencil/pastel, etc.) or paint, plus, for painters who need to trim up their skills. In this small class setting, there is individual guidance for everyone with realistic, expressive, and abstract art. Linda is an expert in highlights, shading, depth, dimension, and much needed perspective. Learn how to create any subject matter (still life, people, objects, animals, scenes, nature, buildings, etc.) that are well-grounded and in proper proportion to each other. Whatever your work needs to make it look more accurate, polished and aesthetic, Linda will show you how. A subject will be provided for those who are starting fresh or bring your existing work for tips to improve accuracy.

Event Description

Come relax with your partner and have fun learning basics acrylic painting skills. You will learn all about acrylic paint, beginning painting skills, learn fun painting exercises, and then create your own 8 x 10 painting to take home. No painting experience is required. Walk away with new possibilities of becoming a skilled painter. All materials are included in the cost for two. A smock cover-up will be provided, plan to stay for 2 hours.
