In this class designed for first timers students will learn step-by-step the fundamentals of wheel throwing, trimming and glazing. Great class to get an initial experience of working with clay and make some gifts for loved ones. Includes: class clay, firing and glazing.

A look at the evolution of still life and exploration of the cultural, historical, and symbolic significance of the genre. Students will work on developing observational painting and drawing skills including components related to composition, scale, perspective, and depth. Students will be encouraged to explore the development of their own personal style including paint quality, paint application, and palette preferences. We will work on pushing the boundaries of traditional still life through a variety of exercises and projects to incorporate ways of rethinking and re-making still life within the context of contemporary art. In addition, students will learn how to make their own canvas, prep the canvas, and develop palette mixing skills.
