With this exhibition of oil paintings, San Diego artist Philip Petrie creates a mythological world that reflects the world we live in right now, a world threatened by extremist politics and the environmental crisis but viewed here through a fantastical lens. Populated by monsters (often us) and cubes (buildings, containers), it is a world in flux, full of ambivalence but also purpose. The exhibition runs from November 6 to December 31 at the In-Between Gallery, 4184 Adams Ave, San Diego. An opening will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9 from 5-8 PM.
