Event Description The Friends of the Fallbrook Library are pleased to present: In Honor of Juneteenth, “The Freedom of Art” Exhibition, from May 2 – July 9. Juneteenth National Independence Day, a federal holiday, commemorates the day in 1865—June 19th—when Union troops freed the last enslaved people in Texas. Juneteenth has become an annual celebration of Black arts and culture, and this exhibit features a special collection by a talented group of artists from San Diego County and beyond. Expressing a creative spectrum of thoughts, images, mystery and emotions, the artists include: Karen Kimbro Johnson Isabel Lemus Brian McClean Charlene Mosley Mosers Muturi Ted Washington Visitors to the Reading Patio will find the sculptures of Reginald Green.
