We\'re hosting an open call for entries from professional and novice artist\'s to create a poster - \"My SD\" - that represents the neighborhood or community in which you live. We\'re hoping to showcase the diversity of San Diego by using art as a tool to express not only where we live, but also your hopes and concerns for a better future. Diversity, perspective, style, and voice are all touchstone prompts that we hope inspires you to create and have your voice heard. All mediums are welcome.
This project was inspired by our programming initiatives with KPBS\\\' One Book, One San Diego selection for 2020, They Called Us Enemy, by George Takei, (graphic novel), and honors major themes in the book such as civic/social justice and activism!
Complete submissions will be entered for a chance to win cash prizes; including 1st- $300 dollars, 2nd- $125 dollars, and 3rd- $75.00, graciously sponsored by the Friends of the San Diego Public Library. |
