SAN DIEGO – The Gotthelf Art Gallery, part of the San Diego Center for Jewish Culture at the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center, JACOBS FAMILY CAMPUS, is pleased to announce the new exhibition Revisiting Shabbat, scheduled to run from September through November 2016, will be the first exhibit for the 2016-2017 season. Art is for sale, with all proceeds benefiting the Gotthelf Art Gallery. The exhibit will feature contemporary depictions of Shabbat through a wide variety of mediums and interpretations. If you would like to participate in this show, we invite artists to create new work, adhering to the theme, and submit high resolution JPEG photos of each piece(s) you would like to submit which speaks to the theme. Theme: Jews observe Shabbat in many ways including going to synagogue, cooking a special meal, resting from work or physical activity and reflecting on life outside of their daily routines.
