A Call for Artists for an exhibit curated by the San Diego Mesa College Museum Studies class
IN-PART
Interact and Participate
With Art
Engage your five senses: touch, smell, see, hear, taste.
Immerse yourself, partake, explore, and escape while breaking boundaries and utilizing your imagination. Work can be presented in the gallery or spill onto the outdoor patio area/courtyard. We are inviting artists who work in all media and methods of performance.
Guest Juror: Artist Michelle Montjoy
Venue: San Diego Mesa College Art Gallery
Deadlines: Please submit materials by midnight, September 12, 2019.
Notification: Selected artists will be notified by September 25.
Delivery of Work: October 17, 18, 19, from 10 am - 6 pm
Exhibition Dates: October 29 - November 20, 2019
Reception: Thursday, November 7, 5 - 7 pm
Eligibility:
NO FEES to submit
Open to artists living in the Southern California/Tijuana region.
Works of all media accepted: painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, installation, performance, dance, poetry, virtual, or video (Artist to provide own technology equipment as needed).
Work must be ready to install/hang.
Size limitation: up to 10 square feet space maximum.
Artists will be responsible for all costs associated with producing/transporting their work.
Guidelines:
Send Submission emails to mesamuseumstudies@gmail.com including:
Up to 5 high resolution JPG images of artwork (1MB max), mp3 audio files or videos via link.
Label and number jpeg, audio file, or video with name for example: GarciaAlex01, GarciaAlex02.
Provide a list with each artworks title, dimensions, media, and date.
Provide a statement explaining how the work relates to the exhibition and engages the viewer.
Include a link to your online Instagram portfolio or website.
Video files should be submitted to present kinetic, sound art, or documentation of performance art. Videos of still artwork or documentation of artistic process will not be viewed.
Proposals will be accepted if they can be completed for the exhibition, work must be funded and produced by the artist.
