Event Description |
In this workshop series, the object is not to make art, but to be in that wonderful state that makes art possible—a peaceful state that removes us from the craziness of the world.
Jill creates an environment that explores being purposefully imperfect, letting go of restrictive techniques that keep you too careful, and falling in love with how easy sketching and watercolor can be. You may pick up some techniques that can also serve as a solution for the harshness of reality during this journey of storytelling, humor, and deepening an artistic voice.
With author/illustrator, retreat leader, and creativity-solution dispatcher, Jill Badonsky, who, for the last 20 years, has been teaching a method of wild abandon art to which even the intimidated beginner gets addicted. |

Event Description |
FREE, no cost; Come and watch as the Juror for the month creates a live demonstration with their talented skills for art.
SAN DIEGO-based plein air painter, Paul Strahm, brings out the FINE in America’s FINEST City in his vivid, internationally collected paintings. Each image is thoughtfully painted to capture the landscape, lifestyle of the area, and its people. Viewing this fine artist’s work will pull you into the scene —again and again — offering you memories that last a lifetime.
Strahm’s passion for painting began when he was young, as did his love for the outdoors. His rural Ohio upbringing allowed him to intimately explore nature on his family’s country farm. After high school, Paul attended Youngstown State University where he studied art and became fascinated with the French Impressionist painter, Paul Cezanne. Cezanne’s study of nature — through his paintings — influenced Strahm and he began to emulate Cezanne’s natural hues and his love of “plein air” painting. |
