Event Description Fun and fast paced, life drawing is a wonderful way to be in the moment. Learn how to draw the human figure, hone your existing skills, and develop some new ones. This class is for all levels of skill. Materials: Newsprint pad, 18” x 24”; soft vine charcoal; kneaded eraser. You are welcome to bring along any materials not on the list that you already have and would like to use. The instructor will provide some unusual art supplies with which to experiment.

Event Description Join us for the opening reception of the 14th annual Art-a-thon on January 11th! This group exhibition will feature paintings, drawings, and mixed media works. Event Description The Escondido Arts Partnership is pleased to announce the fifteenth presentation of WOOD, A Furniture Show XV, hosted by Brian Murphy of Murphy's Fine Woodworking. This exhibition will feature some of the very best furniture makers and wood artisans in Southern California showing their work at the Escondido Arts Partnership. Handcrafted furniture, marquetry and art pieces made in wood will be exhibited in a variety of wood mediums and techniques, including innovative contemporary, traditional and whimsical art furniture, as well as detailed veneering and much more. This two-month exhibition runs January 11- February 21, 2025. Exhibitions are always free and open to the public. The opening reception on Saturday, January 11th provides an opportunity for the public to meet the featured woodworking artists from 4:00PM to 6:00PM. Awards for outstanding workmanship will be announced at 5:30PM.

Event Description ANA MARÍA HERRERA: LAYERED MEMORIES January 11–March 14, 2025 Opening Reception: Saturday, January 11, 5–8 PM, during the Barrio Art Crawl Ana María Herrera’s work explores identity, displacement, and cultural coexistence through an intricate blend of found objects and diverse materials, such as wood, glass, metal, and fabric. Her compositions reflect the ephemeral nature of existence, particularly in the border region, where the complexities of migration and cultural negotiation are ever-present. By incorporating photographs, textiles, and three-dimensional elements, Herrera examines the emotional and physical boundaries that shape personal and collective identities, addressing themes of vulnerability, resistance, and resilience within the contemporary sociopolitical landscape. Herrera engages with layered complexities of human existence, crafting assemblages that challenge traditional notions of representation and foster dialogue about the realities of border life.
