R.B. Stevenson Gallery is pleased to announce the exhibition, “Traces of Place” new paintings by San Diego artist Jennifer Anne Bennett.
We cordially invite you to the opening reception on Saturday, September 20th, from 5 to 8 p.m. This is a unique opportunity to meet the artist and gain insights into her creative process.
This exhibition will be the first solo show for Jennifer Anne Bennett at the gallery.
Bennett’s paintings are united by light, atmosphere, creating a space to enter, daydream, or encounter the unexpected. They are ambiguous landscapes where the viewer may bring a history, narrative, or memory to the works. There is an instinctive sense of place: ground and sky, forest and clouds, branches and boulders, all symbols rendered in poetic and quiet perception.
We yearn to experience the sublime, a personal connection to nature, and to find solace in its grounding presence. Traveling to it, hiking through it, or sleeping under it, there is something primal in our hunge |
