Event Description |
Meyer Fine Art, Inc., San Diego, Little Italy, presents Vintage and Contemporary Posters. This collection of rare, primarily 20th-21st century original, first and second printings, featuring International and American posters, was produced by stone lithography, photo offset and silkscreen processes. The majority of the posters are by well-known illustrative artists including Cappiello, Boccasille, Warhol, Klein, Koslow and Carlu; some are by anonymous artists. These graphics were created to be temporary advertising visuals, not numbered like original graphics today. The prominent poster themes of beverages, food, travel [an assortment of vintage airline posters], movies and sports are included in these vibrant advertising graphics. Posters long undervalued and neglected, are today increasingly appreciated, and sought after by collectors. A renaissance for collecting these graphics has created a renewed look at this art form. Prices based on rarity, condition, demand. |
