Event Description Murals of La Jolla was conceived in 2010 to commission public art projects throughout La Jolla and to bring contemporary art into the community. An Art Advisory Committee, comprised of the heads of La Jolla's major visual arts organizations, invites an international roster of artists to create new artworks, all located on private property and privately funded. Guided walking tours leave from the Athenaeum Music & Arts Library at 5:30 PM. Tours are free and registration is required. Tours are limited to a maximum of 35 guests and last for approximately 90 minutes.

Event Description A new exhibit is coming to Gallery 201! To wrap up her 18-month Emerging Artist residency in ARTS DISTRICT, Leslye Villaseñor will debut a solo exhibition titled Y lo que el viento no se lleva, en la tierra queda, culminating her time in ARTS DISTRICT. In this end-of-residency exhibition, Leslye Villaseñor presents a collection of paintings portraying hidden objects and their surrounding environments. Using items found throughout the Otay Valley Regional Park in South San Diego, the exhibit showcases once-precious possessions left behind by the families of those who have lost their lives in the park. Each object holds a meaningful story from its past life which is illuminated through each painting. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, May 18 from 5 pm to 8 pm, and guests of all ages are invited to stop by for an intimate preview while enjoying light refreshments. The culminating exhibit will be on display in Gallery 201 (2820 Roosevelt Rd, 2nd Floor) from Wednesday, May 15 th
